I'm sure staff at EA will also be facing difficult conversations, not just 'in the morning' but this evening as EA are primarily a US company and work US hours.
Hopefully lessons will be learned, plans changed and actions taken. For example, both in this game and others, the fact that some can get in (or stay online) whilst others could not means that some had unfair advantages. One action I'd expect them to consider in future outages of this type is the stopping of the clock on game servers. Essentially things that are time dependent don't move on, whether that be repairing of bases, timers for sat codes or other timers in other games.
