FireHawks Splash Damage ....Bug?

So I noticed this on Server 71 as I was simming to hit a base. We know FireHawks deal splash damage, and Verts don't obviously, but what I am a little perplexed by, is that even if you do damage to the base Defenses, there is always damage done to buildings and structures once you get by the "defenses". I uploaded a video of what I am seeing and it clearly shows, 3 FH's, they do damage to barbed wire ...2 get owned and the 3rd gets through with no damage whatsoever.  However, after getting through defenses unscathed...am I to believe now that the FH has exhausted its ammunition and can no longer do any damage? That would be a new one to me. No splash damage to any structures and it flies directly over CY with not  a smidge of damage.

Maybe a Dev could explain this one ? Am I missing something here?

  • Both Firehawks and Vertigoes have a limited ammo when it comes to attacking both defense and base structures. Didn't you remember the 1 time prompt warning you about Firehawk/Vertigo usage? Both layers of barbwire absorbed all the ammunition of all 3 Firehawks. You could do better by having a Pitbull or Missile Squad destroy the barbwire so long as other units can bait the defense away from them...

Nope, don't remember 1 time prompt about "detailed usage and/or splash damage" or I wouldn't have bothered posting. Most people are just happy to get their FH/Verts and move along.  If you remember so clearly, perhaps you could post exactly what it says? :)

  • I know there's a prompt for that, but I don't exactly remember what it says. You get that prompt after researching and placing down a Firehawk/Vertigo. The problem is all the recent worlds that I've played in already has those units researched, it will take 2 to 3 days to get one of such prompt to show up.

You could try playing in the PTE and seeing the prompt yourself, just join it and research the Firehawk/Vertigo. It's also a good place for practicing your skills in offensive combat and simulation, especially if you keep your unit levels and variety low.
