I don't understand how you think any of this was his fault. He works for (does not run or own) Envision, a company contractually linked to EA. EA made the decisions. I don't know if Envision were consulted, but he isn't at that level in Envision as far as I know. As commented elsewhere - if an employee notices a theft (and it is theft by deception - deceiving EA as to your location) then he is duty bound as well as morally bound to report it to the appropriate people.
