This has been drawn to the attention of EA, there is no reason it should not be in Euros for those that are in the EU using Euros. Nor is there any reason for other countries in the EU to be paying in US$ as their currencies are fixed against the Euro, therefore for the purposes of international currency exchange it makes little or no difference.
My advice, complain to your European MEP! EA will quickly change their mind I think.
