i dont blame the current reigning wcs champs for not participating this year, if it was a real game with real competition maybe it would be worth playing but its not really a competitive game anymore just look at t53 its just basically 50% or more of the players left in the game on 1 team. let the ttd project guyss have their big gold badges theyve been waiting for all these years. thats why they are all on the same team now. ever since t44 we all could easily see the way this game was going but nobody ever wanted to admit it.
It was not intentional to shut down competition on 53.
And if other big groups disband because of a lack of success, then we have to question our impact on this game. It is still entertaining and fun to play after all these years, but only against decent competitors.
If we shut this down just due to our size and strength, then that is a bad thing.
We started T53 because the WCS was not announced till then and we did not start a world since May this year.
One thing we definetly don't want to be is the tombstone of this great game. There are still new players coming in. A few of those who "survive" the newbie-unfriendly start contact us. Just a few every week, but there are some. We also focus on building up players who want to improve their gameplay. Without some 100k players, the only way to replace old players quitting is to build up other players.
Yes the goal first and foremost is to win the upcoming WCS, but we don't want to hurt the game.
