C&C The First Decade does not work

Hello all,

I recently got a new laptop for college. I decided not to bring my XBox One to college, so I brought some pc games instead. One of the games I brought was Command and Conquer: The First Decade. I have not played this in almost a decade, the last time I played it was on my parent's desktop computer, I think it ran Windows XP.

So, I installed the game like normal. It appears the install goes fine. Command and Conquer, Red Alert, Tiberian Sun, and Renegade all appear to work. However, I have not gone in depth to see if they do, because I am most interested in playing RA2/Yuri's Revenge and Generals. I know the first four games will start up like normal, and I played a bit of RA and Command and Conquer.

When I try RA2 or Yuri's Revenge, the game will start, but with just a black screen. The audio works fine, the intro movies run, and once the intro is done I can click things as if the game is working. But the screen stays black.

When I try Generals or Generals Zero Hour, the pictures for the games come up on the screen like it is loading, but they soon disappear and I am back to the C&C menu with all the games, and there is no error message.

I have tried running as administrator and messing with a few compatibility settings. I also downloaded a patch. These things changed nothing. I am going to revert the settings to default if I can and uninstall the game, so I can start from scratch with any tips I get.

I am running Windows 10. If it helps at all, the laptop is a Dell Inspiron 15, 3000 series.

Please help, these games were awesome in my childhood and I'd like to be able to relive some of the nostalgia.

Thanks.
