I don't have an Apple but it seems that this should not be possible, therefore look carefully at all extensions and scripts that you may be using and disable all that are not strictly needed for the operation of your computer. Background programs, not just those associated with browsers, should also be investigated. I can see no reason why the operation of a browser script would 'accidentally' start the fan.
