I have just noticed that a thread I started (https://forums.ea.com/en/commandandconquer/discussion/223820/tiberium-13 to report a problem on T13 was closed with a post saying to refer to this thread. I can understand if there are multiples problems occurring, the moderators may want all the issues in the same thread but having just read through this one, it offers little help or any explanations to what is causing the problems. I also read through some other threads and saw in some like with the Single Sign On issues the replies from the moderators state the problems were caused by EA but in others about the server problem state EA do not look at these forums or get involved very much with the running of the game and in the main the services are outsourced.
This leaves me none the wiser as to who is sorting out the problems and who is ultimately accountable. It seems to me for several months now, things starting with the Single Sign On have been implemented but gone horribly wrong. It seems fairly obvious that it was not tested before being introduced “live” and rather than fixing these problems before introducing other things like switching servers, they have steamed on regardless with it. And we now have new problems being layered upon unresolved problems without any sufficient reason being given as to why all the changes were needed anyway.
It most probably is the case that none of this has anything to do with the moderators on this forum but I have to say, in the main, it appears to me, you are just fobbing people off with lame responses. So rather than becoming part of the solution and seeking answers from those who are responsible, you have inadvertently become part of the problem. Just let us know who we should contact about all these problems, so we can get some answers because as above, there is contradictory information regarding this.
Single sign on issues occurred in May and were largely resolved (some still didn't manage to get in, but the vast majority did). That is a separate issue to the current problems which have arisen during the migration of worlds from one set of servers to another. The reason you can find no real answer to the issues is because none have been forthcoming other than 'please be patient, we are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused' type posts.
You say it is 'fairly obvious' it wasn't tested, but in fact it was tested. How well is another matter and how you simulate 1000's of logins and the activity of 1000's of users at once I don't know. I don't know if it's even possible with the setups they have.
By looking at the dates of the threads and posts you will see there is no contradictory posts about the 'same' problem. Multiple problems occurred, slowly at first when the standard responses were used as the size of the issue hadn't become apparent. That is how multiple threads were allowed to be started most of which have now been closed and redirected to this thread.
Most of the players and moderators don't actually know who is 'ultimately' accountable. EA are, I suppose, the final ones responsible, just as a UK Prime Minister or German Chancellor or French President is for things that happen in their governments. EA do not, as far as I understand the system, directly employ the staff responsible for the game who are employed by sub-contractors. Which set of sub-contractors is to 'blame' is irrelevant to me as a player, I just want the game to work! EA can use the contractual agreements, as can the sub-contractors, to sort out the blame game.
I'm not sure having answers as to why or how things went wrong is going to help in logging onto your worlds, I'd much rather have staff working on the issue than dealing with correspondence about the issue.
