Subs and alliance interaction
There are varying understandings to permissions a player substitution provides. @gamerdruid and others (including myself) have different experiences throughout the game on various servers and the rule set appears to be different for everyone or at the very least, vary by server age and type.
We respectfully request that the code involving substitutes be reviewed and where appropriate, updated to all servers where required.
General understanding from various sources (the goal here is to clean up misunderstandings and correct across all servers):
A player may provide a substitute (sub) to another player on the same server.
There is no time limit to having/providing a sub. Once provided, it can remain indefinitely unless cancelled by the sub.
A sub cannot transfer the permission of a sub to another player
A sub cannot log into another sub
If player logs back in before the sub is accepted, the invite remains outstanding.
If player logs back in after the sub is accepted, the player receives a warning before joining the world. If 'yes', the sub is cancelled.
While playing as a substitute;
- the sub may use alliance channels with proper privileges (officer channel or alliance channel).
- the sub may (or may not) create an alliance
- the sub may (or may not) join an alliance
- the sub may (or may not) leave an alliance
- the sub may not change any alliance properties in any manner (permissions, ranks, forums, names, forums etc)
- the sub may (or may not) set (and unset) alliance markers, including the removal of player markers for the reservation of bases
- the sub may not attack another player in pvp
- the sub may attack outposts, camps, fortress and initiate shield attacks
- Depending on what flags were set by the account owner, a sub can spend funds, purchase buildings and units, perform upgrades and sell buildings/units.
I'm sure I missed a few restrictions, feel free to post updates.
Thank you
