There are other problems as well as the slow load time.

Scripts are not the responsibility of the developers. In the recent move there was no patch applied, so in theory the servers should work as they did before, but better. The scripts run locally so should not be affected unless of course they're using calls directly to the servers that have been now turned off rather than the correct way of calling routines.
