Damage Mechanic ?

Im interested to find out:

1. on offense, upgrading lvl 45 unit costs around 1.312 times, but how much does its atk power increase?
2. whats the atk bonus (or penalty) between unit class? eg blackhand vs fg tank/mammoth/scrap bus , scorpion/spectre vs sniper
3. any other tips to maximize dmg vs ai
