Efficiency of RP accumulation

I was reading through the tips and guides and got confused about whether to target Outposts or Bases early game (before anything is researched) for their RP... this is whether you are GDI or Nod, Opasmash suggested to aim for bases and shred their defense then leave it to recover.

Speirfein suggested Outposts if the world has Morale Malus, though I don't know if this applied to worlds without Morale Malus... is it worthwhile to target Outposts for their research points instead of bases? Does it matter whether or not one gets the Firehawk or Vertigo faster?

I'm not familiar with this option and would like to know if Bases are the better option compared to Outposts

The answer is... it depends on the world and the ruleset. It's left as an exercise for the reader. In general, if it's a morale world, outposts. If its a forgotten attack world, bases. Your mileage may vary.

Getting firehawks/verts faster is critical because it lets you kill bases/outposts easier. The whole game boils down to resource management. The metric you want to chase is the most resources per point of cp/rt spent. This is why the first point matters.

In morale worlds, outposts are usually easier than bases and give a similar amount of resources. Because of the morale, you can't jump to far ahead.

In non-morale worlds, you can push significantly further into the forgotten with lower army levels, rendering outposts a moot point (you cant spawn them). However, the resources from POIs and bases far outweigh staying at lower level tunnel exits and farming outposts.

    Hope this makes sense.
