Hi. I'd just like to add that I'm experiencing this problem as well. I've had no trouble installing Origin but encounter the same problem when attempting to install Battlefield 3. Has any progress been made?

I'm currently trying to download titanfall but cannot.

I have portforwarded, reset hosts files, ran as admin, uninstalled and reinstalled.

All i get is a error message saying "Origin tried to install Titanfall but was unable to. Just select yes when windows asks for permission."

But im not getting a windows popup giving me the option to hit yes so my download fails.

Is there any answer going around for this problem? I've been having exactly the same. I've tried so many solutions I've found and nothing seems to work!

OK this worked for me ORIGIN take note.

It's a security ACL for the C:\programdata\origin folder and subfolders.

right click on the folder and you may see that not all users have access to the folder.

This is why it works in safemode as the security ACL is disabled

Trying to amend this may resuilt in an error (as the parent programdata folder is likely got different ACL than you need)

Anyway long story short (too late)

    rename your origin folder (originX)

on desktop create a new folder Origin, right click and set the ACL to unrestricted for all users, copy the folder into Program data and copy the files from OriginX to your new Origin.

Worked for me and I've tried all the solutions..!!!
