multiplayer audio

I have a decent PC with a soundblaster card. I am using HyperX headphones plugged in via USB port. With both options the sound is excellent but with both I can't hear multiplayer audio.

I have tried changing sound to stereo. I've tried plugging the headphones into the soundblaster rather than the USB. All the options provide every sound but not multiplayer audio (other people speaking).

I've seen posts suggesting that this is because the speaker set up needs to be on Stereo rather than Dolby 5.1 where the multiplayer audio comes through the centre speaker - tried that and that didn't work.

I'd appreciate any direction on how to resolve this.

  • I have sort of the same problem

I can hear the audio, only it cuts midway and just stops. It seems to happen when I disconnect and freeze from a game for some reason. Not sure if this is related but maybe it is?

    Hello @sntryTF

I am really sorry for this issue with sound in Titanfall 2. Can you clarify if the same thing happening in both single player campaign and multiplayer match? You are also playing on PC?

    Cheers,

    Archi

    Hi,

Single player mode and all other modes other than multiplayer, speakers and headphones are operating perfectly. There's no dropping out or freezing of any sounds.

So I hear all computer voice, background sound, music, sound effects, everything.

Multiplayer mode - all the above is present. All perfect. No screen glitches, no aberrations of any sort.

Just no other sound from anyone else, at all.

I've tried Battlefield and Titanfall 2 - no multiplayer sound from either.

    Any ideas welcome!

    Hello @RobJ65

Can you try to disable Origin in-game option for Titanfall 2 in games properties menu in Origin Library? Let us know how it goes.

    Cheers,

    Archi

Hello @RobJ65 and thank you for reporting back on this. Can you try to load your system with the Clean Boot and test the game? Maybe there is some third party software, preventing game from functioning correctly?

    Cheers,

    ARchi

    Hi,

I reinstalled Windows by doing a Windows reset. Is this the same as a clean boot or is a clean boot better?

Testing VOIP out on Skype with my son - microphone and headset work fine for both of us outside of TitanFall 2

When we go into TitanFall neither of us can hear anyone when we play a private match or in multiplayer.

Given that VOIP works fine, doesn't it have to be down to an Origin or TitanFall setting?

    Regards

    Rob

    More information....

I did sit next to my son when he first turned used TitanFall in multiplayer and I definitely heard the multiplayer(s) vocalizing inappropriately for his age (in my opinion) and therefore we agreed to set multiplayer voice level to 0 in the control panel for the game.

Yesterday, on his computer, I turned it back on whilst playing Multiplayer 'Annihilate' both in his Origin profile and mine - no multiplayer voice.
He did have a bit of doubt as to which game is was that he tried then - so we tried 'Last Titan Standing' too - no multiplayer voice on either profile.
So that was frustrating to say the least.

I then confirmed that Skype works from his PC to my PC and vice versa, with and without headphones - although it didn't work in one configuration where dolby 5.1 was selected as the voice wanted to come through the central speaker which wasn't available or simulated (with the SoundBlaster card and without speakers this works anyway on Skype).

So, we communicated on Skype, then went into the a multiplayer game with just the two of us, no voice communications.
We then went into a multiplayer game with lots of people, no voice communications.

    Hence, I'm now stuck.

    Regards
