What worked for me was deleting some files from my computer that had been downloaded the same day Origin wouldn't let me log in. just type in uninstall program into your computer's search and uninstall what you don't want. BE CAREFUL YOU DON'T UNINSTALL A NECESSARY FILE!
For those still searching here is the TEMPORARY fix/workaround. Uninstall the Origin client. Then install an older version. Here is a link to a working version of the client:

The only problem is, this works one time. Once you exit the client and relaunch it, it will check if there is a newer version of the client and force you to update it to the broken version. So you will have to uninstall and reinstall ... again.
El-Barton, this doesn't work for me. I can't install the newest version of Origin at all. I get the "Error loading webpage ☹️" message. I had to install version 9 just to get it to install, but then it brought me to the "must be onling to log in" problem.... so... I'm on an endless loop. VERY FRUSTRATED
