PC Titanfall crashes when loading a map

Titanfall crashes when loading a map - at least I think that's what it's doing, I have never got as far as playing a game.

Whatever game mode I choose (training, campaign, multiplayer), after the lobby screen it goes to a loading screen (which says something like "Welcome to the frontier" for training), the little loading circle rotates for a while, and it eventually stops, the screen goes black, and I get the message "Titanfall.exe has stopped working".

I have tried:

Updating my graphics driver

Repairing the game

Reinstalling the game

Deleting temporary files

Stopping unneccessary processes

Switching graphics settings to minimum

Nothing has helped so far.

I am running windows 7 64 bit. Dell XPS 430.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 @ 2.33GHz

4GB RAM

ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics

I understand that's dangerously close to the minimum requirements, but it is above.

Have the same problem. Game starts, even conects me to matches and other people. Try to load a map - falls in black screen every time. Same for story mode, training mode - starts loading map and just goes black screen. No explanation given, just "problem caused program to stop working".

I bough a digital copy about a week aho. I even tried uninstalling it and downloading it again ( takes days ), tried reparing it, lowering resolution. I am not inclined to mess with antivirus or BIOS as some people here and in other threads suggested. Doesn't anyone have a more regular solution or a reasonable patch for this?

    NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT

    Dual AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 250 Processor 3GHz

    8GB RAM

    Windows 7 64bit

    950 GB harddrive

Wha's the point of having great reviews on the game when eople can't play the frekken thing?

Guys, a funny thing happened now, I was trying to reinstall the video card driver and an error: "the video card was not found." Before trying to reinstall, I entered the game to check what error was happening (dx11.dll, has stopped ...) and voila, didn't crash... I mean: WTF!

I managed to play with 5 FPS, but at least we know it's a driver problem

There should have been a suggestion here to try the Omega Drivers at Omega Drivers Net (for the OP and his HD 4850).  Your 9600 GT is a less powerful, and an older card than the OP's was.  You must dial down all graphics quality settings to the minimum, and set a coarse .screen resolution to test drivers with.  Your driver situation is a worse one than that faced by this thread's original author.

Bit busy these two weeks, when I try some of suggestions I'll post back the results. Thanks.

Well that 500MB patch fixed everything, didn't even need to buy a new card. All is good now.

  • I just bought titanfall on sale from origin as a digital DL and I get a similar issue . I can load the game play a match possibly even a few but after a few games it doesnt crash it locks my whole cpu up while loading a map and i have to do a hard reset . No other game that i have from origin , WoW, or any other game has that issue . I have the most up to date nvidia drivers no hardware issues and no issues playing other games  including BF4 War thunder WoW and etc  I can even play more than one game at the same time at max settings using both of my monitors and still have good framerates so this issue is boggling me I have tried changing settings ( mostly cause of hard lag spikes ingame , doesnt seem to be a fps drop since it happens with all kinds of setting  configurations an i can rock virtually all games max/ultra settings 1080P  decent aa  16+af and adaptive vsync at 60 fps +) I have a decent  lat of 50ms  maybee 100 at most so spikes that literally stop the gameplay shouldnt be an issue with 30mb/s dl 5mb/s uL which i have had no issues in other games so again boggled here.. System specs are amd hex 1100t stock speed 8gb ram sli'd evga 660ti's FTW Sig2 editions (baiscally 770s)  500 gb main  1 tb drive for games ( niether of which are  past 33%full)  and hdmi connections to a 40" 1080p main and a 26" 1900*1200 2nd any idea would be appreciated I just now tried the repair function and it found no issues so we shall see if that made a difference
