Titanfall 2 Instantly Crashing in Campaign

Hello,

Just bought the game. Clicked start, game crashes with an error regarding my monitor resolution. Google the fix for that. Ok cool no problem. Start campaign. Game crashes without an error message or diagnostic message in the first 20 seconds when you are trying to calibrate controls in the campaign.

PC Specs:

CPU: ryzen 5950x

GPU: rtx 3090

ultrawide 3440x1440 monitor

Latest gpu and chipset drivers

Latest mobo bios

gpu firmware flashes for resizeable bar

updated windows 10 3 days ago

latest version of origin

Everything brand spanking new with the best parts and everything up to date, can't play a game from a few years ago.

My only other game that I play from the origin launcher is star wars battlefront 2 and that thing is a mess as well. For a company so large you should be better at this.

I'd attach an error message or a log file but I am just presented with 'titanfall 2 has stopped responding'

great job

  • Hey, @WhySoFree  make sure that all drivers for windows are up to date, also worth reinstalling the GPU drivers for your PC.

You can also try to do a clean boot to see if there any programs messing with Titanfall 2 and turn off any overlay programs for example Discord or Nvidia experience.

Can you add a Dxdiag so we can see what hardware and drivers you have?

Let me know if this works or not for you. 🙂

  • Installed the latest driver that was released today by nvidia.

    closed every single background application.

no msi afterburner, no riva tuner statistics server.

    nothing.

    same problem.

Changing from windowed to full screen got me a little further into the game.

During the tutorial the game crashed BUT I received an error message so that's better than before.

"0x887a0006 dxgi_error_device_hung The applications device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is an design-time issue that should be investigated"

  • @EA_Atic

It's been 4 days and all I received was an automated response. What gives?

Also, the game went free to play on steam right after I bought it.

I gave ea money to buy something that never worked out of the box on a high end system. Lesson learned.
