At the moment, the things I'd like the most are:
1. Reduce neighbour cooldown to 20-23h instead of 24h, to prevent the ever-marching-forward effect that forces you to skip visits if you need to move your visiting times backwards. Or perhaps just reset at a fixed time for all neighbours instead of per neighbour.
2. In a neighbour town, have buttons to move to the previous/next neighbour that still has actions available (skipping those that are on cooldown). Alternatively, on the main screen have buttons to quickly hide/show all neighbours on cooldown.
I think the main issue with KL is that it has a completely separate currency and multipliers. If SF were broken up into sections but with shared currency & multipliers, I think people would be much more accepting of it -- provided load times were quick.
Having said that, it would likely cause issues with neighbour visits or be annoying during events where you had to hunt and tap things (eg. aliens, elves) that had been spread over multiple sub-towns.

1) As interesting as having springfield broken up into different parts sounds, a lot of players wouldn't like that. It would partition the town and make it a bit annoying getting around.
