3D In Your Town?
They are easy to figure out, take a look at the Springfield Showcase section and look at other people's towns... Zoom in close and you can see what people did.

I do it sparingly. My Buddhist temple is on a pyramid, there's a lifeguard chair tower on the beach, and I built stadium seating at Springfield Downs. I'm sure I'll add a few more bits at some point. If it fits into your town's aesthetic, it's pretty neat.
