939 bonuts choices.... is it random?
i'm not convinced it's random, and feel I get 3 donuts a LOT less than 1/3 of the time, and go through runs of several "doh, only one". anyone else got any feels about this? has it been discussed b...

This is what I do. I feel like I'd be paying money to lose out on a doughnut if I got the 1 after the 2. If I hit 1, I go on; if I hit 2 after the 1, I pay for the 3. I feel like I'm saving money if I get the 3 after the 1.
I did a bunch of math on the 9 possible repick strategies and found that are only 3 that make sense. Which strategy to use depends on how much it costs to get the bonus box (e.g. if you are KEM farming, how much do you spend on KEMs to get 1 million XP?).
If you spend $150,000 or more on one bonus box, you should always go to 3 donuts.
If you spend $75,000 or less on one bonus box, you should never repick, just take what you get on the first try.
If you spend between $75,000 and $150,000, you should follow the above strategy. If the first pick is 2 or 3 donuts don't repick. If the first pick is one donut, repick until you get 3.
