A minor thing, but....

Only thing I can suggest is to build the castle inside the walls, not as part of them. Then you can build the walls in a way that fits. It doesn't help the castle not lining up though. Stupid EA - they really seem to do this quite a bit.

I think they were thinking "the gates need to be as wide as roads/paths" which makes sense.

Nuts. I had not yet noticed that but now I'm annoyed too :mrgreen:

Then they should have made the castle 4 or 6 squares wide. Things should line up easily with decorations designed to go with them.

This means that no matter how I arrange it, the gates and castle will not line up. It also means that the walls will not fit together without having one turned to the side so its 1 wide instead of 2.

I think those are meant to be the castle keeps. Google it. They go inside the walls. But yeah, for flexibility they should have matched up.

Don't think so they are the towers that go on the sides of the walls. There is usually only one keep which sometimes can be within another wall inside for extra protection, but it was the last stronghold.

I'm talking about what the OP is calling a "castle". Agreed there is only one keep per castle, but we have three castles in this game, and hence three keeps. We also have towers, and walls, and a gate for each castle.
