I did not intend to use up any donuts to speed anything up. I HATE it when that happens!!!
There is now a confirm donut button. You can find it by clicking the 'i' up the top right of the buildings and the decorations menu.
You can turn this feature off, or on.
THANK YOU for telling me about this! Unfortunately it was too late for the 5 donuts I just lost, but it will save me much future frustration!
