Click the link above, all the questions are answered there.
It looks like a mandate they have to follow. Some games will no longer be available to those under the age of 13, however, since they stressed that game play will be unaffected by the age entered in TSTO then this game is not one of them.
Again, read the information they put out.- Because that article isn't particularly helpful considering its an official piece, no offense Lisa I see you were trying to help I have to ask, what's the point?
If you don't have origin you can't make friends on the game- that means no one can access any of your personal information anyway( of which there wouldn't be any anyway). I don't have personal details on there, its not asked for. And because it doesn't ask Origin users anyway it targeted at those with no neighbours who don't even have an account. I have a feeling it removes dialogue perhaps, because EA surely wouldn't be mandated by law( a worldwide company) to protect privacy of people that are basically numbers on a graph guests as they have no information on them. - Here's the link:

@LB - did you read that one? About COPPA?
I really don't think it will affect this game, TSTO. HWick_Bluenose wrote:
How old is Grandpa? If I'm asked I'll say slightly older.
Yep, when I was a kid I'd always so I was born in the 1970's, it wasn't because I didn't see why the restrictions were in place but I wanted to play the game I had bought and not be restricted. It's common, just like r is to find 7 year olds on COD and people that never read terms of use.
Ah I read the thee other one which consists of about two lines, I still don't really agree with it, that last point about improving service in particular but I understand why it's in place.- I read it all and was wondering if the age restriction applied to TSTO, and if not as they say "gameplay will not be affected" whats is the actual point in making you aware of the law but not using it.
- stevieortNew SpectatorBeing <ahem> more mature myself, I don't think this is that big of a deal. Having said that, the way I interpret this is that when we log onto the game itself, not to Origin directly, they'll be some sort of age verification required. Or perhaps the game will force us to log into Origin and do the age verification there.
This makes sense to me in that it might explain today's random update. - My guess its a census, probably need it for investors or something.

Makes it sound like EA want to know how many players can actually pay money, this whole feature is as useful as a chocolate teapot to us.
Mmmmm. Chocolate Teapot...- 7. If I make a mistake in the age verification process, will my game be deleted?
No. Your game will remain, and you can re-start the game to re-enter your correct age.
In other words...if you lose your game due to inputting your correct age; you can change it later.
