Am I missing something?

Not sure if it is just me but the new event doesn’t seem to be working properly or maybe I’m missing something. I’m only getting 1 zoo visitor at a time and no toad invasions (my neighbors are always really good neighbors) and there are no tasks/buildings that bring in peanuts or sanctuary grants. I don’t have a lot of donuts so like 95% of things for this event I can’t get unless I hit all the goals but that seems impossible at this point. Am I missing something? I’ve done all of the goals except place the cat sanctuary and the Emu experience which both of them will be nearly impossible at this point.

    The Animal Feeding Station clears all your visitors every 4 hours that could be why you don't see any visitors
    Tap the Zoo Gate to send characters on tasks to earn Animal Feed (act 1 prize currency), Sanctuary Grants (for upgrading the Emu Experience, Big Cat Country etc.), and Frog (to send to neighbors)
    Upgrade the Emu Experience to earn decorations that you place in the blue bonus area to increase the rewards from the characters' tasks.
    Send frogs to neighbors. You get a rewards whether or not they tap the frogs on their end. The reward is bigger if they do find them.
    Visit neighbors to tap on visitors. Looks like you can only tap on 24 total visitors in friend's towns.
    Do you event Daily Challenges and collect them.
