Anyone else losing handshake donuts?

Same exact thing happened to me just now. Cleared a handshake on my cannon and a donut popped out.  After a re-log it was gone.

The handshake donuts appear to be a glitch, as none of them survive the game syncing. :(

What happens if you spend the donought before logging out? Do you stil loose the found donought?
