Attitude change towards whacking day

Perhaps there is something to be learnt from that. The events probably go on too long. Would it really have hurt them to halve the targets and shorten the event by 2 weeks?

I feel ya on that, I would have been content with 5 prizes, after recently completing everything I am sick of the game. And I was "life ruiningly obsessed" lol

I was able to get all the prizes, included every Whack Box, just this past weekend. And I played hard, multiple times a day, every day. So for me, the event seemed to last just the right amount of time. Having said that, I'm taking a bit of a mental break have been sending my characters on 24-hour tasks. And I've been giving eggs in bulk to my neighbors that are oh, so close to hitting 12.5k snakes (so, so many that aren't even close).

Any way, all this to say that I thought the length of this even was pretty spot on. Thanks, EA! And do well by Star Wars!

thats a good idea. i was thinking a nice option would be to turn off the update when we are done. for example, make it so snakes no longer generate in our town.

Yeah it was pretty much impossible to play the game without taking part in whacking day. With all the problems at the start I did try ignoring it but you just couldnt. Having just got to 12500 snakes I am glad I did get it done, didnt think I was going to get anywhere near done for most of the event and if I hadnt I wouldnt have been bothered. The stadium and coliseum both look terrible anyway ;)

I don't think the event went on for too long. I'd rather they keep the prize requirements where they are too, as it gives people time to play casually and still get some nice rewards.

Halving the prize requirements as well as the time would've made it easier to miss and thus less likely to draw in casual players over a long period of time.

Now a lot of new players are in the habit of playing Tapped Out at least 2 times a day or so, so they're hooked enough for whatever the next updates will bring.

The goal of any Freemium game is to convince its players they have to play EVERY DAY if not multiple times a day for fear of missing something big or not having the resources for when the next big something comes.

:thumbup: I agree with the "should fear we miss out" and I think if we miss then we shudnt be able to get it again. Because if we get the option to get it agian then there's no incentive to login often! But....there are people that have glitches that my lock them out of the game for a certain amount of time......damn harpies lol

Ok maybe half the time was a bit much, but a bit shorter event wouldnt have hurt. I wonder how many people this event drove away, quite a few neighbours of mine seem to have given up half way through.

That is me in a nutshell. I am getting boxes and not even trying. Only got 2 left.
