Awarding XP to helpful posts

This is a feature on the EA answer HQ forum but not this one.

I had an email not long after I joined the forum to say I had been awarded 1XP. I also had a diamond appear next to my log in ID. Or was this a different forum? I'm not a member of very many! Does anyone remember this or am I seeing a future incarnation of this forum?

I was sure the email also said something along the lines of the forum having been updated to make it even more interesting?

The amount of posts doesn't mean much. Go to "off topic" threads and you'll see people bloating their post count like there's no tomorrow. It's more about useful/helpful posts.
