Buying donuts method

apple just charges your credit card. otherwise you can use your cc to buy an itunes gift card

For those on android devices...

On my android device, you can enter your credit card number to pay for donuts or use a gift card number. I've only done the credit card.

For Android, I use Google Play gift cards and I use iTunes gift card for my Apple Devices.

I'm afraid I still don't understand (I've never bought an iTunes gift card either) it's no problem to go down to the store and pay for it the way I want, however since donuts are an in-game purchase, how do you force it to use the value of the gift card, instead of the card that you keep on file with Apple?

If u are not going to buy online products frequently, there's no need to buy the prepaid Gift Cards with a little discount.

Just keep a credit card no. in your Apple account (presuming u are Apple player), and buying a boatload is only a click away. :wink:

You have two options:

Put your CC on file with Apple. Purchase donuts. The purchase will go through the App Store.

Purchase an App Store gift card for an amount that will cover the cost of your donuts. Enter the gift card # and apply the amount to your App Store account. Purchase donuts. The purchase will go through the App Store, and the remaining balance will be on your account.

Those are your only two options.

Not everyone wants to have a card on file though. I only have a prepaid Visa card on file that I can put money onto, that I let the kids use to purchase stuff, because these days, I trust no company to keep my information safe anymore, not after what happened to Target.

Yep. I do not have a CC on file with the App Store. Gift cards only.

If u are worried about safety, suggest u consider Debit Card (with 16 digits as any Credit Card, so merchants can't tell a different), and link it to a dormant bank account. U only deposit/transfer enough cash to this bank account before using the Debit Card each time. So even if someone steal your card number, they can't spend it since there's no money in your bank account.

Sometimes you can buy iTunes cards on sale. I haven't bouhgt any donuts yet but I will when they go on sale.

I already have a card on file with apple for the occasional purchase, however this time I want to purchase the donuts with another card, and don't feel like switching which card is on file with Apple.
