So ea how about letting us place cars on roads like parking meters can on sidewalk.
Would make our town look cooler
It would be good, I agree, but those two things are not the same. Characters can (and do) also go on the sidewalk. It looks to me as though the game is setup so that only one object can be in any square, and that the road is an object, as is the parking lot, while the sidewalk is defined as a non-object (which allows signs and characters to go on it.
The grass and concrete appear to be just a change of colour/texture, which is why you can place buildings/cars/decorations on those squares. ZennGlenn wrote:

Where's Monty Python when we need 'em?- not only should cars be placeable on the roads, we need more cars when designing the alternate town i noticed there was a sickening lack of cars, theres some special premium ones but 1st of all even if buy them its still not enugh, 2nd of all lots of the cars are funny like the fan bike or the strange future car none really to degin an acual town design with.
- I for one am happy with the lack of cars. I live in am actual large city. I like dense urban areas that are pedestrian friendly and bike friendly (and mass transit friendly).
If anything, I wish Springfield's road were smaller since there are no cars that really use them. Give us just sidewalks, walking paths, bike paths, etc. I don't like wasting tons of space of roads that never get used. Likewise, I don't like to make many parking lots. I like cities with buildings and parks and density, etc, not a place full of parking lots. Nitemare-rexx wrote:

For a discussion about wanting more cars, refer to my post of yesterday; "On the subject of cars..." :)- Speaking of this, I had a wth moment when I seen this in a neighbours town yesterday. How'd they do this?
- We don't talk about that sort of thing on this forum.
