Same here. Wish he'd do something other than walk around. Wonder why it's working in some towns but not others.- Same here. Hope somebody knows.
:?: - It is the 24 hour task run for mayor. I don't seem to have any issues with Cecil's tasks. Right now I have him on the 4 hour practice stand-up. He is in front of the opera house dressed as a clown performing.
- It seems like it should be the 24-hour Run for Mayor task. However, mine just walks around. Are you saying that for some people it works?
- If I remember correctly wasn't the heart sign animation used when Cecil "made amends with Springfielders" at the very beginning of the event? I haven't seen the animation since though.

You may be correct. I just put Cecil on the 24 hour task and he is just walking around.- I see it in others towns and was wondering the same thing... :?
- It could just be the animation EA set Cecil to do in a town when you visit. I've noticed that characters don't do the same task they are set to do when you visit another town. A lot of times I set my characters to 4 hour tasks and when i visit my main town using a feeder town, my characters are doing a 12hr task.

I wonder ... By any chance was the 4 hour task an indoor one? If so, then EA randomly assigns an outdoor task for that character to be doing when visitors arrive.
Here are some examples from a long while back when all my characters were on a quest task to go to OFlanagans for a drink. The pictures were taken when they were all still inside the bar! In my own town, no characters were visible. They were indoors, drinking.
However.... Each of the pics below is a screencap taken when I was looking at my main town from one of my feeders. (BTW, not shown here, but i took a screencap, went back to my friend screen, reentered the town and most of the tasks are different from just a moment before)
First, the crowd pouring out, then a little farther, then close up.
Also, in the closeup you can see that if the random task happens t be a stationary one, the character is in the doorway ... And multiple stationary characters get stuck in the doorway together. Behind Snake who is combing his hair, i see Smithers whipping it, Boobarella burning at the stake, Kearney in there dancing a jig, plus patty and Selma must be smoking and Rich Texan is on the bull. Barney's passed out on the ground. and a bunch I can't see.
BTW, this only happens while the task is in progress. In your case, if the 4-hour indoor task is no longer in progress, a visitor merely sees characters wandering out of the building, untasked. No screencap of that.
Hope that wasnt as confusing as I think it was. Its fun to send a bunch of characters to the 1-hour Kwik-E-Marts task, the 8-hour drink at Moe's task, or the 12-hour go to church task. Then visit your town and scroll to that building fast and you'll get there just as they're poring out. :)annettemarc wrote:
