Twice before, and I don't recall what it was, being required to plant something automatically finished the corn!!

Edit 1: Planting carrots in the Easter event of 2014 auto finished the corn. There is a small trick to it though; you had to plant the carrots with the "Do It" button. Google tstoaddicts.com auto-finish-corn

Edit 2: The other time I recall was Valentine’s Day 2014. Planting roses auto finished the corn.

Edit 3: If you were watching the forum, or reading a walkthrough of the event, you could get the corn planted before that part of the quest. If you didn't forget. :wink:
