I don't think it will make that much of a difference as many players will have finished task 9 of Jingle Bell Wreck, meaning they can send Feds to friends' towns. Each Fed tapped in your own town = 1 present.
So you just need 100 Feds a day to make up for the loss of presents from finishing tasks as part of the questline.
+ you get more and more elves to make generate presents. I currently have 12 elves = 48 presents every 4 hours = 200-250 presents a day depending on how often I can play per day.
+ more and more Springfieldians will be able to make presents, thus generating more presents towards the daily target.
