Refresh (sync)? Check all the houses and your castle. I saw that message but wasn't too sure initially. Mine are popping up quickly. Like I said it could be a rarer house that you might have hid. You can also look for the building complete icon if someone destroyed a building. I think you are the initial quest so maybe it's prepping you. I've logged in numerous times today and seem to always find a new shield.
