CoC Decoration Glitch: Disappearing Walls and Bonus Experience Points

Thanks for the insightful post! I am always curious to read about and see these things, regardless of how minor they may seem. I find it a bit interesting. And like you said, it is not something you can really expect to exploit for any donuts.
  • So what you are saying is:

    1. Spend elixir until you are down to the price of one castle wall.
    2. Store all existing castle walls. (Let's assume we have 20 walls)
    3. Buy one wall, depleting your elixir, and place it.
    4. Continue placing walls, which should be drawing from your storage.
    5. Claim xp for 21 walls.

Can someone confirm this exists? I can't go in my town for 11 hours. Lol

    UPDATE: see my next post
  • I noticed this the other day too when I was trying to buy multiple banners. I kept storing them all and found it weird that the number in my inventory would only increase by 1.
  • I lost 2 outhouses (and was out elixir). I had 5 in storage, bought one (thinking the glitch would take one out of storage and do it's glitch thing), and then discovered I got charged for the one I took out of storage and lost 2 (had 3 in total at the end). So there may be a glitch within this glitch...

Now to be careful I've been taking the items out of storage before I buy more of them, and storing them in my town. Those lost outhouses have made me a bit paranoid!

So i didn't wait 11 hrs and took the time to test this. It works.

    1. Had 185 elixir and 39 walls in storage.
    2. Bought one wall for 100. Placed it, and continued placing walls withdrawing from my storage.
    3. Placed 40 walls upon which the awarded xp "cashes out" automatically and floats over to your xp total at 2xp per wall

I snapped pictures but you will obviously want to test it yourself. I don't see any reason to use anything but the walls for this purpose of xp mining so no concern of 100 hay wagons. But if you're surrounding the town you could really dig up some xp here. Which translates to donuts only if you're maxed out on levels so get to the end of level 45 before this event ends! Who thinks it's too long now! Ha

So the method would be: to keep buying a single wall, placing your entire storage, then recollecting it, earn only 100 elixir, and repeat. Sounds tedious. Have at it.

UPDATE: OMIT STEP ONE IN THE BLUE BOX QUOTED ABOVE. Your elixir balance is not relevant.

One change: you don't have to keep your elixir totals down when you make the purchase. I needlessly complicated matters in my original post and edited down the part you're referring to. I'll do the revision here where I hope to do less damage! As I stated before, it is possible to purchase only one new item at a time, but if you have the same item in storage already, the glitch will allow you to pull the stored item out in the same transaction. For that reason, one needs no more elixir than is necessary for one transaction, but you can have more available. It is also the reason why experience points are rewarded in this method, but they're not rewarded when items are taken out of storage in the ordinary way: the glitch is part of a transaction. I apologize if I made your experiment more difficult--I flubbed it--but I do appreciate you taking the time for the confirmation.

This concerns me. Could you explain in more detail what happened? If I have it right, you should have six now. I've done this with outhouses, and I've done it a few different ways (all items of a certain kind in storage, some items in storage, no items in storage). The last thing I want to do is trigger a different glitch! I'm editing the opening post in case others have an answer.

    Too much work for me!
  • You are correct. This is different than placing fences where you can keep placing new purchases in sequence. I just confirmed:

    1. Holding 4000 elixir. Only 2 walls in storage. Buy one wall and place it.
    2. Continue placing walls in sequence. It will place the one wall you purchased, deduct 100 elixir only, then draws from storage and placed the two i had there.
Upon placing the 3 walls, it cashed out the xp.

So you don't have to pay attention to your balance to exploit this. Excellent observation!

Ugh. Your right. I technically lost 3 outhouses... :(
Painkillers and math don't go well together (actually, me and math don't go well together anyhow... But I'm sure the painkillers didn't help...)

As said above, 5 in storage. I bought one more and it charged the elixir for it. When I went back in to my inventory I had 2 in storage, and one that was the "purchased one" in my town. (3 in total at the end).

I later tried with walls after reading this thread again. I thought I would see if it happened with something less expensive. I did not lose elixir this time, but I lost a couple of walls - had 10 in inventory, "bought" the wall - which I was not charged for, but instead it was taken from my inventory. Went back in to my inventory and only had 7 walls stored,. So, I lost 2.

I haven't heard of this happening (or haven't noticed if it has been mentioned - been a bit out of it lately) to anybody else, so I'm hoping it's a problem that is isolated to me.

If I take the stored items out of inventory and make a purchase, I don't lose anything. This is what I'm doing now. I've put some of the stuff back in storage after purchasing, and have the correct amount in the end when I do it this way. It just takes longer to do.

I hope that is clear. I am still on pain killers (it's been a bad week for pain) so articulating things is a bit more challenging than usual :P
