Dead characters or no dead characters [poll]
How is it sacrificing the story if they were to add deceased characters from the show?

Really the lack of simpsons knowledge on this board is sad.
The show is still on people if you claim you love the simpsons so much watch a few more episodes.
That is because this is a board for the game, not a board for the actual show. People can play the game, shockingly enjoy the game but not be masters of The Simpons trivia. One reason that it has such staying power is that it has managed to attract casual and diehard fans. You need to thank the casual fans that tune in from time to time and keep ratings high enough that Fox justified keeping it on the air so long, just ask Arrested Development of the casual vs diehard fan.waltercartman wrote:

Um, okay, not sure the Lmao, that was my point, you have a mixture of casual fans and diehard fans, hence ratings that continue year over year to be strong. Be appreciative of the casual fans that do not know every trivia detail is what I am saying. Mocking people on a forum for their lack of knowledge of the show (on a forum for a game based on the show and not on a forum for trivia of the show) just shows you do not appreciate the casual viewer, and frankly makes you sound like a pompous twit.
I believe the show can pretty much do what it wants now, but seriously, to think Fox will keep ANYTHING around because of diehard fans, well that is just foolish. If they are not making money, they cut it. But as I said, I think The Simpsons has written its own ticket to do as it wants now, but thank the casual viewers as well.- And for having more than 30 people agree on bringing back the dead, sure maybe not the exact topic, but makes me laugh all the same.

This poll is just proof how many people here are just fans of the game they wouldn't care who we get dead or alive.
I don't hate you at all, and I only call you names because you mock and berate other people because they have different priorities in life than you. I think the definition is fanboy. And as you say, why would you care about the casual viewer...BECAUSE their ratings contribute to keeping the show on for the fanboys. That is the problem with fanboys, they forget the world does not revolve around their definition of what the show or comic or whatever should be.
Anyway, I like that you are passionate about it, that is nice. I at least know if I have a trivia question I can ask you.
I do not think this game is going to have the tiniest effect on the lore of the show. It is pretty solid in its own right.
This poll also shows that you are at a forum for the game, not for the show....where people are interested in seeing characters revived in a game, of which the premise of the game was that the entire town was destroyed and everyone is coming back from the dead.
But no, I do not hate you, but maybe lighten up on the disdain toward people that might not be accurate on statements about The Simpsons.

Springfield has blow up. A few times in fact. Its also moved because of trash build up.
However not once did doing so bring back dead people from the past.
Sure this is just a game but its still a simpson game and anything simpsons goes in the simpson lore..
All of this means nothing we wont see dead people in this game inless its hollween related. Sorry if that upsets some of you but its a fact.

I'm a diehard fan. I would sell my left peanut to have Hutz and McClure back. But it just wouldn't be the same without Phil Hartman. So out of respect, I'd prefer if the Hartman-voiced characters didn't come back.
The other dead characters? Meh... I can take'em or leave'em. None of them are compelling enough to bother bringing them back. There's a wealth of characters they could use, so why bother with the dead characters?XBL-Heretic wrote:

I feel the same about Hutz and McClure, but without the voice I would prefer not to have them. Would just be too sad to click on Troy McClure and not hear, "Hi, I'm Troy McClure, you might remember me from..."
I just am a big fan of Frank Grimes. My own shortcoming I know, but he is just one I would love to see, so for me that is my compelling one. This said, I do agree, there plenty of characters to pull from, so I am sure I am going to be happy with whatever is put out there. Frankly I think this and the other thread are less about the actual people coming back to the reasons on why not bringing them back to the "fact" of them not coming back.- I remember the episodes with the deaths of bleeding gums, Maude, and mama Simpson. And I remember crying during all three episodes (if I remember correctly, in each they showed the person, after death, in some cloud or dream state comforting someone special who was grieving. Thinking about it right now, two tears just dropped down each eye.) I never got over anyone I lost, so maybe those episodes are more sacred to me. But I honestly don't want them to bring them back, it sullies their memory and mocks their death.
I know I know, way too serious, it's just a cartoon. But never ending shows with heavy character development can make you grow a weird bond with the characters. Thinking of poor Flanders, all the flings he's had since, his Christian heart would crumble with guilt if Maude was somehow revived. Unless he decided it was ungodly or satanic... - Ah back from the dead, 48 to 21 in your face sucker
