I don't feel the need to get every item, I get what I can and I'm happy for it.
Would I like the opportunity to get stuff I missed? Sure! But what I really want is to get the stuff I HAD. I lost Moe's Suit due to a bug and EA stopped responding to my emails. I also lost my Android town just before Whacking Day and there has been no help there either.
I really enjoy the game, but after seeing how buggy it is and how EA treats it's customers, there's no chance in hell I would spend any money on premium items, even if it was the only way to get the things I missed.
