Every argument against re-releasing limited time stuff is a different permutation of the above. All of them boil down to the same thing: a warped sense of superiority and a pathetic means of enforcing self-worth.
Whats wrong with keeping limited time items limited time? I bought all the limited time stuff at Halloween thinking it was going to be limited time. i would want my money back because i dont really believe items year on year are limited as they could then come up infinite amount of times.
I explained why but you cut that part out! It's valuable for attracting and retaining new players who could very well want to have all the old stuff for their new Springfield. I am not necessarily saying every single item but a majority of the buildings and characters.ICE_GRYLLZ wrote:
Looking on this thread the majority of people who are arguing for the re release of the limited time items do so because they joined after the events happen and this;Excruciator69 wrote:could quite easily be aimed at some one saying they should bring the items back.

Seriously, huh? How exactly does someone gain a sense of superiority in an environment where all participating are (eventually) are given opportunity to obtain buildings, characters or decorations regardless of when they first began playing or which device/operating system they happen to be using?
This should be really good.ICE_GRYLLZ wrote:
The events would be really boring if we just got offered up the same mechanics. I dont want to be tapping zombies, collecting santa coins, seeking love hearts and cracking snake sculls again. EA should come up with new things not re hashing old ones.
I am totally with you but there are only so many things they could do within the framework we've currently seen.dcadamb wrote:
Are you on a debate team because you are a good debater?
Thank you but I am not. Just trying to provide a sound rationale for why EA might really want to give opportunity for new players (And Android players, as it turns out) to obtain previously limited time items.dcadamb wrote:
Also I like your opinions becase I want something new during the holidays.
I agree with you here but it's a safe bet they will make the old holiday stuff available and add new holiday stuff. Maybe donut purchase for old content and the familiar grinding process for the new.
I agree completely the idea of episode specific items was to spotlight and promote a few episodes that were distingushed for whatever reason. I'll reiterate my suggestion for items that were for promoting specific episodes: sell a code to get them when you purchase the S24 DVDs or BRs. Or sell a code when buying the episodes on iTunes (or equivalent site) Allow those who picked up the episodes to purchase for donuts if the originals cost donuts. Give away if they were given away initially. Everyone wins.
Except the elitist snobs who won't feel very special any longer because undeserving scum who were using iOS or didn't have the decency to download the game until December were allowed to obtain Duff Racers, Cool Homers and Gorgeous Grandpa. Which, of course, completely invalidates the Springfields and ruins the entire TSTO gaming experience. :P
I doubt there would be a code for season items on the DVD /blue rays because they simply don't come out at the same time in all the countries that play this game - let alone speak English as a first language. eg. in The Simpsons they have just released season 16 on DVD. (and they wonder why Australia pirates so much).
