Does it matter what i vandalize at friends?

It seems... and I could be wrong... But it seems, that the only time my school or Moe's generates any cash for me
is after a friend has vandalized it.

So I in turn always try to hit anything with a spray can when I visit others so they can benefit too.

Anybody else have a theory?

Cheers!
  • The bonuses you (are supposed to) get with premium items do not apply to the cash/XP you pick up in Friends' towns. No matter what you tap, you get the same reward.

Also Nine9Nines is right about the benefit your friends get when you tap the longest duration buildings - it does indeed reset the clock sooner that if your friend had waited & tapped it themselves.

However, I feel that vandalizing the school, police station, town hall and Moe's is best because that is the only way for your friend to collect cash on those buildings. They do not pay out otherwise. It also helps your friend raise their Righteousness meter, allowing them to attain their glorious 5 stars.

    Vandalize First! :D

But say the Springfield Penitentiary's time is cut in half from 24 to 12 hours (I don't know if that's the case or not, just a guess). In that case, the owner would earn an extra 150cash and 15xp over its next duration (300cash/30xp cut in half since the 24 hour duration would have started instead of the 12 hour), instead of just 16cash/2xp from a vandalized building.

Your logic is sound, but I understood the process differently. Again, using the Penitentiary as an example:

    REGULAR SCENARIO:
    - Pen becomes available at noon
    - Owner does not log in again until 4pm
    - Owner taps the Pen at 4pm, resetting the timer for 4:00pm the next day
    - 24 hours later at 4pm, the Pen becomes available again
    - Owner loses 4 potential hours of refresh time (from noon to 4pm)

    FRIEND SCENARIO:
    - Pen becomes available at noon
    - Friend visits the town at 1pm and taps the Pen, resetting the timer for 1:00pm the next day
    - Owner does not log in again until 4pm
    - Owner taps the Pen (now a handshake) at 4pm
    - 24 hours later at 1pm, the Pen becomes available again
    - Owner only loses 1 potential hours of refresh time (from noon to 1pm) -- Friends saved Owner 3 hours by ckicking early

I don't think the refresh time is cut in half... I think it is just started earlier than if the owner had tapped it themselves. Please correct me if I am wrong!
