That's the closest I've seen. For some reason I thought there was one I saw where he was just standing there, smiling, and waving his hand constantly at the screen. I might just be crazy. :-p

Sometimes what you see in a neighbors town is not a regular task of the character, but from the original quest. For example Cecil goes around with a heart flag (part of the original quest) when the neighbor has him on an indoor task.

Frustrating at times.
