[EA confirmed] Major Bug with % Premium Items. DONT BUY THEM - THEY DONT WORK!

Hmmmm....now that I think about it, I have the same problem.
  • I noticed this yesterday also. I have almost all the premium items and when a 500$ job was completed, I only received an additional 15$. My math skills aren't great, but 17 percent of 500$ should be more than 15$.

    I feel ripped off.

I ALWAYS knew something was fishy about it but only just now verified I was right. I have every special item in the game. The Springfield sign alone is a 4% increase. Add all of them together and I should be getting a (ballpark) 30%increase. Easy. Which means I should be making a killing. And I'm still grinding to buy houses and decorations. This has been broken since the beginning? And we are just now catching on? Shame on us (me).

Well, one correction is in order. We are *not* just catching on to this shortcoming. It's an issue that's been under discussion here for quite a while. I would imagine that most of the regulars here who have been buying premium items for the last few months have done so in the full knowledge that they were not providing an interest bump.

My apologies then. Remove the "us" and leave the "me" in my statement.

Hey, no need to apologize. I was just trying to clarify the situation.

EA they say you visit these forums we all think you don't prove us wrong with a response. Why is this still broke and when is it getting fixed?

    Proven wrong!

I believe this is fixed in the next client update, but I have not personally verified it.

Infinity yays is this is fact. The only reason I haven't bought Mt. Springfield (as I call it) and some of the other premium items is cause of this. I am seriously excited. This glitch is why I signed up to this forum to add a voice to a very large problem, for those of us that are completists and want our Springfields to be fully decked out it may have been hard to justify certain premium purchases. I hope somewhere Schwede510 is smiling for first posting this thread and it getting fixed, long time coming.
  • Hey Folks,
yes - as you said it , i litaraly was smiling when i read the posting of csherleyeas posting.

(thankx csherleyeas, for keeping us up to date)

seams that something is going on here - and as the next client update is not that far way, as chrismas
is allready in front of the door i hope that she is right , and we get this fixes in the next 1-2 Weeks.

But i will wait if it is really fixed  before i cheer !

    Have a nice december everybody!
    Best regards

  • Well, the new update came this morning - removing the Thanksgiving balloons from the shops and adding the "Cool Brown House" quests to tie in with an upcoming episode. However, the fix to the Premium Items did not occur.

I ran Grampa on his never-ending "Tell Stories on the Couch" job. The base reward is $70. My Conform-o-meter is at 4.5% and I've got a raft of premium items that should give me a boost of 26% or so. I earned $74 which represents the Conformity bonus and nothing else.

I was waiting until this update to post this, in hopes that the rumored fix was true. Since it was not, I urge any players upset about this issue to contact iTunes. I reported this issue to them last week. I got a very kind response from a customer service rep there who informed me he was filing an official "request for investigation" against EA with iTunes. He gave me a link to a form so that I could do the same and urged me to share it with others. Here is a part of his response:

What I did for you is submitted a request to have this application investigated. Unfortunately, I can't guarantee when, or even if, we'll be able to make this a possibility, but I do know that Apple takes the requests and concerns of it's users very seriously, and submitting requests via feedback is one of the best ways to have one's voice heard. I also definitely suggest submitting a request of your own and urge you to send this link to any other users you might know who might be interested as the more requests that are received, the likelier that they may be implemented. http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.htm

I would encourage others to use this link and report the issue.
  • You really shouldn't expect this update to fix it, as this was just a content push. With an issue like this, they are going to have to update the client, which can't be done through an in-game update. You should wait for an update to come out through the App store, as those are the ones that will fix bugs.
  • I think people fail to understand there is a major difference between a content update and an app update. You are getting angry over a phantom fix. The app will be updated on the 5th.
  • This was just an in-app content update and not an App Store update, like others mentioned before.
I can imagine that such a game mechanism is only possible to change via an App Store update. You should know that.
