EA please update "Misery Box"

Adds to the other stuff from the wheel that crowds your inventory.

I started to igonore the mystery box and the daily prizes, that way it doesnt bother me to just get junk. Though I hope one day I get the tire fire...
  • I've got SVT and Lemon tree out of mystery boxes, but the other good stuff I have already. so I only can get money crap or donuts and it's usually crap. Cool to know that it's only 2% chance of SVT
  • the budha is the real problem. I bought 3 in a row. spent 45 donuts to get a mystery box which gave 250 cash then 2 budhas each gave a planter. HUGE loss on all 3
  • I think somebody on one of the other misery/Homer box threads posted it was probably better odds to buy golden scratch cards and save the donuts up rather than risk it buying MB's or HB's :?

It would be nice to see this feature updated, getting a prize or cash amount in the box that is less than the 2/5 daily prize awarded for repeated play does feel like a kick in the nads tbh.

The sliding scale would be good, higher the level of the player, better chance of getting something good/useful.

I completely agree. However, in the past month, I have had my best run of mystery boxes ever. I had not purchased SVT and was repeatedly urged to, because I would still receive the donuts in the mystery box if I won SVT. After about 1 year and 4 months of straight play, I was the only one of my friends I knew of that had not received SVT in the mystery box yet. But then, about 2 weeks ago, I received SVT finally! And then, just this past week, I got 30 donuts in the mystery box!! It took a long time, but that was a nice little run.

However, I still think they should update both of these items, to include some of the new premium decorations and characters.

Didn't we have a lovely mystery box during the V-day update last year? That would have even been a welcome update this time if it included only the premium items from the V-day. Anything just to mix things up. And would have helped with clearing the wheel.

Actually, the HB's expected odds in terms of cost of donuts are a positive. They are 16, 17, with a purchase price of 15, but if you did this, then you would probably be loaded up on premium decorations that you would not necessarily want. So I am not saying to buy a bunch of Buddhas.

Here is prior thread where someone calculated the math on the expectant number:

  • Yes. Please update the "Misery Box" and Homer Buddha. I would like to win the whale from a Homer Buddha. :D

They won't, they don't like giving anything away for free, even if it is a bench.
  • Speaking of benches.. I haven't won one of those in awhile. Newspaper dispensers and parking lots are the norm. Or the angel topiary.
I've won Frink, 30 donuts a couple of times, 150 donuts once, and the lemon tree.
  • It's rediculous, they chock up your inventory, they give you next to nothing if you sell them and if you have millions in the bank and there is nothing to spend your money on, whats the point of a mystery box?

The real problem? Does nobody on this forum understand how a lottery works? EA would be flat broke if you profited every time you bought a Buddha. Considering you have a good chance to break even/profit AT ALL from a Buddha should be more than enough. I'm sorry you didn't get your 45 donuts back, but sheesh. I got frinks and moleman from buying 10 Buddhas. It's luck.... Just like a real lottery.
