And very realistic. At first, I didn't even realise it was coming from my phone. I live near a container yard and a rail line, so I thought that the siren was either coming from the yard, or was related to railway maintenance work that was happening that weekend.
Then I went to work. The first time it went off, everyone, including me, was saying "What was that?". I helpfully offered the info that I'd heard it at home over the weekend. The next time, I realised that it was my phone. I tried to make it stop, but it went off again. And again. One of my colleagues had lived in New Zealand for a while, and she said it was freaking her out because it was the same sound as the NZ earthquake alarm.
I eventually found that the only way to stop it was to go Settings>Apps>TSTO and uncheck the Notifications box. The weird thing was that I had never had this problem before on that device (Android phone), and that it wasn't happening on my Android tablet, even though all I'd done there was turn down the volume.
