EA unexcpected removal of games from app stores

I read an article that said EA had to make some cuts and lay off employees. This isn't the first time EA deleted apps from the Appstore. They recently took down Theme Park. Apps will always be removed, no matter which company distributes them. That's the one flaw of owning a tablet. They removed You Don't Know Jack, which I enjoyed playing, until I had to delete it to make room for other apps.

I'm sure Tapped Out will be okay since it's one of EA's highest grossing apps.

I'll be at the Game Discussion forum for The Simpsons: Tapped Out 2 (the one with cars that drive on the roads).

    This
  • This is why I don't like the current gaming models, mobile OSes, and how the app stores work. They change something significant in the OS that breaks a bunch of games. Game company pulls the games and nobody is able to get them even if they have a device with older compatible hardware than can run the game. Or the game will run on newer hardware and OS version but the game company is too lazy to check the appropriate boxes that tells the app store it can be installed. For example "The Room" works on android 5.X yet on my LG G4 I can't install it because the store thinks it isn't compatible. I emailed the company with no reply or sign of anyone having done anything to correct that oversight. And then there is the lets make it "online" so that despite a game being something people will still want to play they pull the plug and poof you can't play it any more; when said game could be offline and ever valid to play. Even TSTO could be an offline game. Aside from the cloud stored copy of the game progress and the premium currency that is their income model the game is other wise offline.

That said Bejeweled 2 was replaced with a new one simply called Bejeweled. Which is as far as I can tell Bejeweled 2 with a visual overhaul. Dead Space and Mass Effect are still in the google play store. Some of that other stuff I didn't even know existed. Real Racing having a Real Racing 3 it doesn't surprise me the first one is gone. As for Need for Speed Shift that is disappointing. I bought it a long time ago on a deep discount special. I appear to still be able to install it though even though it doesn't show up in the search. It along with a number of older titles now have ZZSunset amended to the beginning of the title. I'm not sure why that is.
