But wouldn't they have brought them back by now Ick? I mean, I guess I'm naive but I really thought it wouldn't be more than 48 hours or so before they were back in the store available for purchase.

I think you could be right. It might just be a case of "opps, well that didn't work out too well" and just put it entirely on the back burner(?)
