- There'll always be another event, Easter or otherwise.
Next up will be a 1 act mini-event of about 2 weeks duration, then another 4 act 6 ish week job with or without a week off in between for designing.
Rinse and repeat ad infinitum.
So the simple answer is: Until your donut income rate exceeds the cost of all the new premium content per event then you work on your bonus %.
It's difficult to quantify that exactly cos it depends on how much of the returning content you have each act & not all events have the same amount of new stuff either, but I'd suggest a weekly income of at least 100 - 200 bonuts would be a good rule of thumb as the tipping point. - Following on from what @TheRealTiminator said . . .
A typical event now is 5 weeks and 4 premium items, usually 150 Ds each, and a week off.
A typical mini event is 2 weeks and one 150 D item.
You also need to keep feeding the collider - 150 Ds gets 60 days and a multi event with a 1 week break and a mini event straight after is 56 days ( 8 weeks ).
To get all the usual stuff without any returning content you'd need 900 donuts in 8 weeks.
That's 112 per week and a couple of daily challenge sprinkles.
Getting your bonus up to a state where you're past that means you can start getting YearBook items and returning content too.
If you're close to earning that but not quite try and set aside 175 Ds or so - 1 event item and a collider feed. You'd need to have some sprinkles saved to make those numbers work anyway, 5 weeks at 112 a week is only 560 Ds so you'd need to start an event with at least weeks worth in the bank and probably a week or more left on the collider.
Bonus is king though, until earning becomes easy, so if it takes a while still to earn those sprinkles go blast through as many Burns Boxes as you can for News Vans and Billboards, and watch for Jet Engine Bikes in the vault. Good luck - At 200 Ds a day why not save maybe 3 days worth or so and that's a multi-event paid for. After that just keep on with the bonus until there's new content to spend the banked sprinkles on, at which point replace what you've spent and then start back on your bonus.
I forget where it is on here, but there's a breakdown of the vault content so you can get an idea when you'll get JEBs or mini-nukes next. Even though Burns boxes are great value for the bonus per donuts it can get to be a drag going through the cycle to get the good stuff and dump the rest.
( There's 3 or 4 junk items each cycle then donuts and bonus and maybe a Lard Lad to end what is typically a cycle of 7 items. Just store the junk and go sell it later. You only need 32 Ds to guarantee getting all the items from any of the cycle variations and it averages out at about 8 Ds for 1% )
If you know there's something you'd want a batch of coming up in the vault save for a load over a few weeks where you can, as well as thinking about slowly emptying the YearBook.
Not only are they bargain items in that, there's stuff with bonus as well as stuff that earns XP and cash and it will also mean you won't get quite so much returning content throughout an event or in another misery box, and that makes it easier to decide where your sprinkles are needed. - lucienleon519Rising Rookie

Thanks for all that. My %bonus is almost 1600% and I'm farming 100 kems every 4 hours, which gives around 200 donuts a day.
I have plenty of game money and thanks to my golden goose realtor I have loads of land to build on. I thought it would be nice to have a pot full of donuts ready for an event.
I've bought burns mystery boxes before, and just seem to get rubbish.
If you're getting 200 donuts each day why do you even have to worry about saving donuts for the next event? - How much cash and space do you have?
- lucienleon519Rising RookieAgreed, build that bonus :)

100 - 200 A WEEK? In my #4 game I'm generating 150 donuts a DAY and every event nearly bankrupts me.
A bonus of 1234% in your first goal. That's reasonable. 1900% is Superior. 2400% is Excellent. And the really nice thing is that the higher your bonus is the faster you can push it up. It took me about 3 months to go from 600+ to 1234. After that it was just smooth sailing up the tiers (tiers being defined by how many KEMs it takes to get Bonuts).
Here's a quick guide:- KEMs --- Bonus
- 1 - - - - - - 9900.00%
- 2 - - - - - 4900.00%
- 3 - - - - - 3233.33%

- Thanks @wadebear and @1-Graham-S for doing the maths to put my ideas into context.
But wow! @wadebear, you're blowing through over 1000 donuts per week ? you must have a serious amount of returning content for that, I'm guessing that's a reasonably new game, which I guess makes sense if it's your #4.
Probably the best strategy for a game at that stage would be to ignore the new content and just grab the returning stuff cos it's always cheaper and then grab all the new stuff that you've passed on for a cut price when it returns.
So many different permutations of income, bonus, age of game etc, it's always one of those "how long is a piece of string?" questions. - Thanks for all that. My %bonus is almost 1600% and I'm farming 100 kems every 4 hours, which gives around 200 donuts a day.

I've bought burns mystery boxes before, and just seem to get rubbish. - Not worried personally. It was just a general discussion point for other players who maybe don't have lots of donuts. Also interested in other players tactics for the game, to improve mine
