I think it's partly EA cutting on funding for the game. This all came about when EA made many layoffs and made less than what was expected. So with Apex legends around I think they may be doing better. But I personally enjoyed the previous format. I'm honestly just wanting a good Simpsons story. Yes. I've thought the same about the staffing.
Also, the "world showcase" travel events were my favorite. Best content we ever had IMO.
