Someone in a previous post suggested always going for the box on the left. I really don't know for sure, but my last two bonus level ups I did that, and both times got three dognuts. I shall bonus out...

Seems counterintuitive to spend, what is it, 40 donuts for a squad car in order to level up more quickly so that you can acquire 1-3 donuts.
