You can also use graph paper. The large hedges are two squares. The small ones are one. (I wouldn't recommend those. Takes too many.)
I don't plan mine, other than the phrases I hide in them. And then I make sure there is usually just one way out, and one way in.
You want to see mine, send me a friend request. - Thanks everyone! I found a website that just generates mazes. The biggest problem with copying most mazes online is the "walls" are usually thin. For the game, we need walls that are thick since we have to make the walls with hedges.
The one I found let you pick the size (width/height) and size of the walls/corridors as well. I made a maze with walls and corridors the same size. Like I said, I think I would wide the corridors using a 2/1 ratio this time but I have seen enough hedges for the time being. I will work on finishing the rest of my redesign.
And on the maze complexity, I agree there is this one long corridor that isn't great. I should have just generated another one to get rid of that.
