And I agree with you. Though I do tap them in towns of people further down the alphabet. I pay attention to the ones in the middle, too. (Since many folks start at the end now, maybe the L's and M's, etc. that suffer from the "forgotten middle child" syndrome, TSTO style.) . I figure these groups are more likely to need the taps, and less likely to have lots of people competing for those objects. I KNOW the reason I get so many is because I'm early in the alphabet.
