Because that's what the Showcase is for!

Images in Game Discussion are fine if they're used for illustrative purposes - to show how to do something or what an item looks like in general. If you're just showing off what you did with an item or asking for feedback on your town, then it should be in Showcase.

Ok, I know what you're saying makes sense, but when you go on this forum-do you go straight to game discussion or Springfield showcase? I know where I go!

I go to Game Discussion first, but I check the Showcase regularly.

The point is, there's a specific place for it, so why are you intent on putting things where they don't belong? If everyone posted in GD because it gets more traffic, before long the entire forum will be nothing but random Add Me threads. The real trick is to get more people to actually visit the Showcase forum - then you'll get more responses.
